in the islands located in the Caribbean Sea

Barbados dream island,

you are a hymn to the earth

you are a hymn to the earth

You are the son of poseidon

God of the sea

His trident gave birth to you

you are the earth, you are the plain, you are the field.

you are dear to all those who sow while walking;

you offer a bed of moss to the shepherd;
Chilly, you warm yourself in the eternal sun,

Laughs, and makes a circle with the planets in the sky

Like sisters around the hearth.

you like the ray favorable to quick wheat,

And the formidable cleansing of the winds,

And the breaths, which are lyres,

You are the son of poseidon

God of the sea

His trident gave birth to you

you are a hymn to the earth

And the lightning, living forehead which, when it shines and flees,

All together terrify and reassure the night

By dint of frightening smiles.

Glory to the earth! Glory to the dawn where God appears!

Barbados

You looked me in the eye

In a twitch of your wrinkled forehead

You reveal to me your valued doces

a fold of your smiling mouth with thin lips

and it is the sea that you reveal to me

Shaking your hands you say

Even though we control the sea lanes

that doesn't stop you from praying

God of the sea

By this island you expected me to smile at you

"We will be better protected guards

my nature and my animals ”

Harmony is your work

you shelter tropical forests and mangroves
